Jaguar unveils the C-X16 Production Concept at Frankfurt
Jaguar has just unveiled the concept for what will become their next generation sports car at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Dubbed the C-X16, the new two-seater is the smallest Jag built since 1954 and seems to be aimed directly at the heart of the Porsche 911 Carrera.
The handsome production concept represents a new design direction for the Jaguar marque. Global Brand Director, Adrian Hallmark, stated, "The C-X16 embodies the established Jaguar strengths of sensual design, animal-like agility and inspirational performance and combines these with attributes that set us on a course to create sustainable sports cars of the future."

Performance is paramount for the new C-X16 coupe, which derives its power from a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that creates an impressive 375 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. Borrowing technology from Formula 1, the concept includes a “Push-to Pass” button on the steering wheel that activates a hybrid system providing an additional boost of 94 hp and 173 lb-ft of torque. With the help of an eight-speed gearbox, the C-X16 sprints from 0-62 mph in 4.4 seconds on its way to a top speed of 186 mph.
Other highlights of the concept include:
-High-strength aluminum chassis
-Perfect 50:50 weight distribution
